Professional Leadership – University of Regina
The Professional Leadership Certifi- cate will assist you in developing the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to be a successful, effective leader. You will be exposed to both theory and practice that will help you look at ways of bringing your skills to life in your workplace. Develop your leader- ship capacity with like-minded people in group discussions and participate in valuable networking opportunities.

Health & Human Services
Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) – SIAST
Learn the fundamentals required to work in care homes, home care and community health centers. Full-time and part-time courses are available. The program consists of theory courses, lab skills, and practicum place- ments in special care facilities and home care.

Practical Nursing – SIAST
Graduates of this program are eligible to become Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs). Parkland College has been delivering this program in Yorkton for over 10 years. The next program is scheduled to begin in February of 2013. Applications will be accepted until March 16, 2012.

Primary Care Paramedic – SIAST
Get prepared to work in the field of pre-hospital emergency care. Learn to perform physical assessments of various body systems, recognize and manage medical and trauma injuries, common cardiac and respiratory emergencies.

Early Childhood Education Orientation (ECE 1001) – SIAST
The Early Childhood Education Orientation is a course for early learning and child care profession- als. This course meets the minimum training requirement ECE 1 classification as outlined by the Ministry of Education.

Early Childhood Education Certificate – SIAST
Broaden your understanding of children’s physical, social, cognitive, creative and emotional development. You will also develop an understanding of the importance of play as a vehicle for learning. This program meets the license requirement ECE II classification of the Ministry of Education.

Early Childhood Education Diploma – SIAST
This course builds on the knowledge, attitudes and skills developed in the Early Childhood Education Certificate program. You will further enhance your knowledge and skills by studying expanded theory. This program meets the license requirement ECE lll classifi- cation of the Ministry of Education.

Medical Terminology
This part-time course introduction to the structure and function of medical language and the medi- cal terms relating to body systems. Class held Tuesday evenings and a few Saturdays.

Alarm Technician
This course is ideal for all alarm installers currently active in the industry. The Alarm Technician Level One course provides an overview of the industry with a focus on reducing false alarms, providing a minimum standard for installation, improving efficiency and quality through knowledge and standard practices.

Protection & Emergency

Professional Firefighter Qualifications
Parkland College offers training that meets or exceeds the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1001 Professional Firefighter Qualifications standards. It is widely endorsed as a necessary credential for new hires. If you are seeking a position as a career firefighter or want to gain knowledge and practice, this program can give you the competitive edge.
Graduates of the program will be awarded IFSAC & ProBoard Certifications in:
NFPA 1001 – Professional Firefighter Qualifications Level I & II
NFPA 472 – Dangerous Goods – Awareness/Operations Levels NFPA 1051 – Wildland Professional Firefighter Qualifications Level I
Additional program training will include:
air brakes; resume writing; interview skills; swimming; practical live burns; school presentations on fire awareness and an opportunity to gain certification in NFPA 1081.

On-site Regional/Municipal Firefighter Training
Parkland College is proud to deliver on-site firefighter training. We have the equipment and staff to travel to any on-site location customizing training to fit your needs. Using the IFSTA modules to NFPA standards we can help you choose the right modules to train your staff. Training is flexible and can meet any time frame. Certification can be granted once all modules are completed.
NFPA 1081 Industrial Firefighter Qualifications
Parkland College is now offering NFPA 1081 Industrial training on site. Training is tailored to your specific industry.
Professional Firefighting Instructor Qualifications
NFPA 1041, Level I, Part I & II is designed for firefighters interested in the challenges of being a professional instructor. Each one week course con- tains theory and practical components.

Tuition: $1,680.00 (both weeks) or $840.00 per week
Emergency Medical Responder (EMR)
EMR certificate program prepares students with first aid training in providing first responder emergency responses. The program provides the knowledge and skills necessary for firefighters, law enforcement, and emergency medical service personnel to help sustain life, reduce pain, and minimize the consequence of injury or sudden illness in an emergency.
